Daily Solve ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website daily-solve.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you use the Service, and explains the choices you have regarding that information.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Service. This falls into three categories:

Account Information

When you register or sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture from Google. If you register with email and password, we collect your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. You may also set a username within the Service.

Quiz Activity

We record every quiz attempt you make, including the date of the attempt, each answer you selected, whether each answer was correct, the time you took to answer each question, your total score, and whether you completed the quiz. This data is used to calculate your score, maintain leaderboard rankings, track streaks, and award achievements.

Usage Data

We store timestamps of account creation, last login, and quiz completion. We use your current and best daily streaks to power the streak feature. We do not collect IP addresses, browser fingerprints, or device identifiers beyond what is strictly necessary for session management.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and maintain your account and authenticate your identity.
Calculate and display your quiz scores, rankings, and statistics on the leaderboard and your profile page.
Track your daily participation streak and award achievements based on your activity milestones.
Archive monthly leaderboard results and record monthly winners.
Send transactional emails (e.g. account confirmation, password reset) when you request them.
Diagnose technical issues, monitor Service performance, and improve the overall user experience.
Enforce our Terms of Use and protect the integrity of the leaderboard.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.

4. Information Shared Publicly

Certain information is visible to other users of the Service by design:

Your username and profile picture are shown on the leaderboard and in monthly winner archives.
Your total score, rank, and quizzes completed for the current month are visible on the public leaderboard.
Your current streak is displayed on your public profile.

Your email address and individual question responses are never shown publicly.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service. Each provider has their own privacy policy and data handling practices:

Supabase

Our authentication system and PostgreSQL database are hosted on Supabase. All user data — including account information and quiz history — is stored on Supabase infrastructure in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region. Supabase applies industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.

Google OAuth

We offer sign-in via Google. When you use this option, Google shares your email address, display name, and profile picture with us. We do not receive your Google password. Google's use of your data during the sign-in flow is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Vercel

Our web application is hosted on Vercel's serverless infrastructure. Vercel may process request metadata (such as IP addresses) to route traffic and maintain service reliability. This data is not stored by us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and quiz history for as long as your account remains active. Monthly leaderboard archives are retained indefinitely as part of the historical record of the Service.

If you request deletion of your account, we will permanently delete your personal information, quiz history, and achievements within 30 days. Aggregated or anonymised data (e.g. total number of quiz completions) may be retained without any link to your identity.

7. Cookies & Session Storage

We use cookies strictly for authentication and session management. When you sign in, a secure session cookie is set to keep you logged in across page visits. This cookie contains no personally identifiable information beyond a session token.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking services.

8. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text. Access to the production database is restricted to authorised systems only.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection — object to the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
